Weird RV's
Doves love Cardinals
Does this dove think she's a cardinal? Or is it a wild case of RV miscegenation? RV owners Larry and Teddy Page "entertained" this little gal for several days in Nevada. In an attempt to discourage her they removed her nest each day. She faithfully rebuilt it on the ladder until they finally convinced her their rig wasn't a good home by placing the latest version in a nearby tree. At least it can be said that they didn't do it for a lark.

Patriotic little trailer serves up free coffee
In Oregon, along I-5, motorists can get a cup of free coffee at most rest areas. In this one just outside Albany, the "coffee house" is a very patriotic little trailer. Even though the coffee is free, most people leave a donation, and some grab a cookie or two as well. The coffee is free at Washington state rest areas along I-5. But down south, in California, you'll need to find a restaurant. No free coffee at rest areas there.

Truck camper? Well, maybe technically speaking. . .
You've probably heard stories that some snooty RV parks won't let folks camp with old or crummy looking rigs. We think whoever owns this homemade RV will probably not be too welcomed at those places. But, really, from the long grass growing underneath this one-of-a-kind rig, it doesn't appear it's about to go anywhere, anyway.

Long RV has two balconies!
Pretty fancy, eh? Not one, but two balconies! David Barker of Mirande, France, snapped a quick photo of this very unusual RV near his home. In a country where most RVs are small, this one must really stand out. David sent the photo after reading in RVtravel.com about a new motorhome from Country Coach that also features a balcony, although quite a bit more high tech than this one.

Tiny, tiny motorhome -- they don't come smaller than this
How small an RVs get? This is sort of the Teardrop version of the motorhome -- about as small as you can get, and only three tires to deal with! Don't try packing too much weight in this tiny RV, which was spotted in Germany.

Hundred year-old British "caravan" said to be world's oldest
UK -- Here's what's been unflatteringly described as a "garden shed on wheels," a British motor vehicle museum says this 1908 caravan (travel trailer to us folks in the US) is the oldest existing recreational vehicle designed to be pulled with a car.
Visit the Motor Museum in Llangollen, Denbighshirem to check it out for yourself.

Truck Camper with a twist!
Truck camper? Hmmmmmm! Well, maybe and maybe not. RVtravel.com readers Eve and John Burton spotted this unusual RV in Twisp, Washington. We hope those straps hold.
RVs and Campers, 1900-2000, An Illustrated History
Here's an entertaining look at the history and evolution of RVs. Nostalgic photos show RVs through the years of all types and sizes. This is a great book for an RVer's coffee table. Learn more or order.
